Matt and Nicole Get Married!

Our good friends Matt and Nicole were married this weekend. They are seriously the perfect couple and totally meant for each other. They crack me up when we get together with them. Matt is always picking on Nicole and the other way around. They are great! Anyway, Bryan had the special privilege to get to stand up for Matt in the wedding as a groomsman.

We had a full weekend with the Rehearsal dinner on Friday and then the Wedding on Saturday. We had a great time and the wedding was beautiful. Here are a few photos from the weekend events.

Project Time. Glitter Snowflakes.

We love doing projects here in our house! Amelia gets so excited when she gets to make these fun things of paper, glue, paint and glitter. On this day it was no different. We decided to make a snowflake mobile. I thought of this one up myself, yes and it was as we went along.

First of all I cut out some snowflakes with white paper.....I'm sure you all remember doing this as a kid. Then I had Amelia sponge glue on the paper snowflakes.....kind of like sponge painting them with glue. Then next I had her sprinkle glitter on them. Once they were dry, I then threaded string through them and hung them up. I think they turned out quite nice.

Glitter was next.Drying.
Hung pretty in our dining room.
One of Norah too.....here is her latest face. Talk about funny. It's kind of a snort with it. I know...funny!

The Man in Black, a story about Jesus.

I hadn't heard this before and I loved it. What a nice story, and of course Johnny Cash does everything wonders. Take a listen. Here was a Man:

I Have A Job!

I have a job! A job outside of the home that is.

I am so excited about this! I will be working along side of Cathy Dietz. She is a wonderful Photographer that I have met through my great friend Heather. Cathy is a friend of Heather and she also shot Heathers wedding a few years back...... and I was in the wedding and able to meet her though different functions like the wedding, the shower and all that.

A few weeks ago Cathy mentioned to Heather that she was looking for an assistant to help her out with wedding and events. Then a few days later Heather and I were together and she told me about it. I asked her to please tell Cathy about me and that I was quite interested, yet not knowing if I was even qualified enough to obtain such a position. Heather mentioned how I was interested to Cathy, and I also sent her a quick e-mail. One thing led to another, and I had my interview this morning. Cathy said that she would love to have me. YIPPEE!

I seriously can't believe how awesome of an opportunity I have been given, God was totally with me on this one. Thank you Lord!

Anyway, I will practice, practice, practice until the first event. I am to go to her house this week to see her studio and she will show me a few things. I have to say once again, what a wonderful opportunity this is, Cathy is a fantastic photographer and to learn and have her as a mentor, what a great situation for me.

If anyone would like to take a peek at her site click below.

The 2008 Rodgers Family Christmas Tree.

Yesterday we went and got our Christmas Tree for this Christmas season. Amelia was still not feeling that Great, but we thought some fresh air might do her some good. It was a pretty descent day for the end of November, so we headed out Mid-afternoon to get the warmest time of the day. Matt and Felicity decided they wanted to go along with us too, so that was fun for us all.

We went to my friend Gloria's house. She has a small Tree farm across town and we go there each year. I would rather have my money to go to a friend so we like to go there. We love going to her place, you get to cut your own tree down and it's only $20.00 for any size tree. My parents pay $60 or $80 each year, so I think this is so much better....and tons more fun!

We did choose a small tree this year. With Norah's birthday party coming up and my in-laws coming to town for a week, we need the space this year....we will just have to fit to many people in the house to have a big tree.....heck, our house is small without a tree in it. On a side note, It's a cute tree....I'm happy with our choice. I think Bryan is a little bummed on how small it is this year, but I think he is happy with it too. I just love having a real tree in the house, it smells so good! We...well I had considered getting and artificial tree this year, but we just couldn't do it. The real thing is just so much better!

Just getting to the farm, Amelia ready to find her tree.
It's simple there, but so pretty.
The only "somewhat" good photo we got of the four of us. The girls were sick and not wanting their picture taken.
My brother Matt cutting down his tree....this was the first time he cut a Christmas tree down.....he usually buys it from a place where they are already cut down.
Fee and I with the girls.
Bryan trimming up our tree.
Matt and Fee with their first tree together. Cute aren't they?

Once we made our stop at Walmart on the way home last night, the girls were done for, and needed a nap. So we just decided to put the tree up today. Amelia did a great job, however she did manage to break one ornament.....yeah, one of mine from 1977, I was bummed. Oh well, it's going to happen. Anyway, she did do well with putting them on the tree though. She only did a few then was side tracked easily. She loves the lights on the tree. I hope she does ok though the season. Norah wasn't to interested with it all until right before bedtime. She pulled at the tree skirt a little....I hope she keeps away. {crossing my fingers here}

Holiday Movie of the Week.......Elf.

This week I picked another fantastic choice. Everyone must watch this one at least once during the holidays. It's a newer movie, 2003 I think, But the funniest one ever!

Description of movie from Yahoo Movies.....
As a baby, Buddy crawls into Santas toy bag and is whisked off to the North Pole, where he is raised as an elf. A misfit who grows to be three times the size of his elf family, Buddy ultimately heads to his birthplace of New York City to seek out his roots. Unfortunately, they turn out to be a "Scrooge"-like father and a cynical ten-year-old stepbrother who doesn't believe in Santa. Worst of all, everyone seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. But using his simple elf ways, Buddy sets out to single-handedly win over his family and save Christmas in New York, hoping to at last find his true place in the world.

Check out the movie web site for much more.
