Temper Tantrum.

As from Wikipedia the definition of a Tantrum is:
"A
tantrum is an emotional outburst of ill humor or a fit of bad temper wherein the higher brain functions are unable to stop the emotional expression of the lower (emotional and physical) brain functions. It can be categorized by an irrational fit of crying, screaming, defiance, and a resistance to every attempt at pacification in which even physical control is lost. The person may not stand or sit on their own. Even when the "goal" of the person is met, he or she is not calmed."

My definition is: Amelia.

I know being two that is what you do. She has had them for a while now. Probably the first major one around a year, maybe earlier. However, she has moved on to a new status in life with these. The all out....PISSED off, throwing herself on the floor, tossing her time-out chair across the room, hitting and kicking her arms, legs and head on the ground. N.A.U.G.H.T.Y!!!

I'm sorry, I have to laugh though. Yet as a new mom, it's a tough to see your baby so unhappy and unpleased, you want a happy child. But in Life you have to learn, and that starts at an early age. My parent taught me...I hated it, but I learned and yes, I'm a better person for that. Now fast forward to today:

She looked so mad and just didn't know what to do with all that uncertain anger she has within herself. I laughed so hard....of course I was careful for her not to see me. Yes, I was mad, and unhappy at her for throwing her tantrum, it wasn't necessary, at least in my eyes.

She wanted to take a shower with me, I didn't want that at the time....Mommy wanted her own solo shower for once. Amelia wasn't going for that, AT ALL. She tried to climb in with me, fully dressed....tights and all. When I said no she tried to pull down my shower curtian and then threw herself to the floor of the bathroom....mad, drenched with water now and in major tears, yes, snot and all.

She kept it up the whole time I showerd. I told her she was going to go to time out once I got out if she didn't stop. No, she didn't stop. I did just what I said..... I dried off, sat her in her time out chair and that was it.....the tantrum grew to another new level. She ran away, tried to hide from me. I put her back, she threw herself off the chair and shoved it. I placed her back on the chair....without saying a word, this happened probably 5 times. She finally sat still bawling. I walked away, then it happned, I turned around to her tossing her time-out chair toward out front door. Ok, mommy was mad at this point. I walked over, sat the chair upright and sat her little bottom on the floor. She stayed this time....I think the look I gave her said it all. She sat there crying kicking and screaming, but never moved from her spot. after 2 minutes, I went to her. Told her what she did wrong....she listened to me and calmed down quite a bit. I explained to her why she was in time out...what would happen if she did it again (go to her room....she HATES that!) She said ok. I'm sorry mommy and I love you. We hugged and cuddled a bit. Then she said she was tired and wanted a nap. That was 2 1/2 hours ago....she is still sleeping.

Temper-Tantrums. Yup, Temper-Tantrums.

Sunday Fun.

It was a bit of an off Sunday, I headed out with my friend Stacy for Yoga and breakfast and left Bryan with the girls. By the time I arrived back home they were all getting restless. Bryan thought it would be a good time to put together the Kitchen that his dad and step-mom got them for Christmas.
*****The new rule of the house.....if your going to buy the girls something that needs to be put together, it must be put together upon arrival of our home. *****
It took Bryan 5 hours to put that thing together. Poor Bryan. He wasn't feeling that well to begin with, so by the time he was done he had just about had it with Life in general. Needless to say, he was a bit unhappy.....sick + putting together a toy = an unhappy human.

However the girls have rested up from the holiday biz and are back to normal. Full of it.

Anyway, the kitchen was a hit. They LOVED it. We can pretty much say, Amelia has a new reason for living at this moment....her new kitchen. She was making us eggs last night, and this morning she made me steak, or so she says. :)

Here are a few photos of the day:

First off Norah Belle.
This is the crazy face she makes when I pull out my camera. I think it's a smile, what do you think? I laugh so hard when she does this. Look at her....No, Really take a good look at her! She is nuts! Are you laughing now too?
Happy...sorta making that silly face.
Tub time.
GGGGGGRRRRRRRRRR........
Splash, splash, splash!
Miss Amelia:
Sweetness.
And no, we don't measure out her food. She does normally get more than a cup of cereal. She had to have this cup I'm guessing. Silly girl.
Cooking time! The new kitchen. Making us eggies as she calls them.
Whats more fun than the new kitchen? The Box of course!

She can be so sweet sometimes. Look at that face.
Happy, happy girls.
I wonder whats in here?
Um Opps. Should I have stopped that instead of taking the picture? Amelia was fine.

Matthew and Fee

Today I had the opportunity to take some shots of my brother and soon to be sister in law, Felicity. They wanted me to take a few pictures for them....you know, the engagement photo for the paper and things like that. I had an awesome time doing it. Despite what Fee says, I think she is quite Photogenic. I was able to get some pretty nice pictures, see below.

Catch up post.....My girls, being pretty.

We have been actually relaxing a bit since Christmas, we were so busy that we needed some time down. I have take a few photos of the girls and I just wanted to share them with you all. The girls received this Boa for Christmas and I shot a few of them being pretty.

Happy New Year 2009!

We brought the New year in with a Bang last night. We actually went out on the town. It was an absolute blast!

Don and Cherrie (my In laws) are still in town and offered to sit with the girls while we went out for New years eve. So of course Bryan and I took them up on it. We invited Jennifer and Jason down for dinner here at our house (Bryan made his famous Lasagna). We had a few glasses of wine then headed out. We made our first stop at a small pub in down town South Bend called Shawn O'Casy's. It's a little Irish pub (which fits perfectly in the South Bend area, if you know anything about Notre Dame) that was actually built in Ireland and shipped over here and placed in the lower level of the Marriott. We had a few beers there and a some coffee and relaxed a bit. We then decided to call Matt and Nicole Murry and invited them to come down and join us. They got dressed and drove down in Record time (Great job you two!) and looked fabulous too.

Once Matt and Nicole arrived we all headed over to Cathy and Don Dietz's home for a party. We all had an amazing time! The Deitz's know how to throw a party! We brought in the new year with them and hung out there danced, drank a few glasses of wine and chatted and got to know everyone more. Bryan enjoyed a nice cigar and some aged Scotch with Men and then it was time for us to head home....heck it was almost 3am.

I hope you all brought in the new year right and have made your resolutions and plans for 2009. Resolutions can be hard, but I try to do one each year....so this year I plan to spend more time with God. Pray more, and attend church on more of a regular basis. I haven't been doing that like I should, could and would like. My relationship with him is slacking and that needs to be altered. What is your Resolution? Feel free to let me know.

Well here are just a few pictures of us from our new rocking into the new year last night.....

Here we are ready to go out.
The four of us....Bryan, me, Jenn and Jason.
Jenn and Jay
