Date night.

Wednesday was Jennifer's Birthday. We decided that it would be fun to catch up with her and Jason for drinks on Saturday evening. We hadn't been able to get together with them in quite some time and it was past due. We always have so much fun with them. To top it off it was over due time for Bryan and I to get out on the town for a few hours. Some times, kicking back and relaxing with friends is just what the doctor recommends.

We had a fun evening, and it was just an evening. We met up with them around 3:30pm and Jenn and I went to check out a dress for her wedding. (one for me to wear). The guys went across the street for a drink and waited for us.

Once we were done with the dress stuff, we met back up with the boys. We had a very good Bloody Mary there and then headed over to Lawton to a little brewery called Old Hat. It's this cool little bar, good people, and pretty tasty beer. We had some finger food snacks there and a few beers. It was a fun evening chatting with Jenn and Jason and catching up with their lives...they are always doing something fun. We had dropped the girls off at my parents house, so about 8:30 we picked them up and drove back home to Niles . Nice simple night, nothing flashy and a good time.

Old Hat...the name of the brewery.
Cool sign hanging in the pub.
My handsome man.
Jenn and Jason, aren't they cute together?
This man, sorry sir I have forgotten your name, but he was nice and was asking me questions.....My camera tends to get lots of questions, I told him I would take a picture of him and put it on my blog. So here you are....I hope you see it. :)

Play-Date with Dean and Susan.

We had so much fun on Friday with our new friends Dean and Susan. They came over for a fun play-date. We have been trying to do one for months now, and we finally did it. I sure hope we can try for one again soon!

I met Susan at the gym and we hit it off right away. What a wonderful person she is. She has three beautiful kids and is one awesome mom! We started the gym the same week, and were going though the issues of our kids not wanting to stay in the daycare. But both of them have grown to love it in there now. Thank-goodness!

Friday, was fun, it was a perfect day for a play-date, the weather was SO nice, I think it made it to the low 70's! We made grilled cheese sandwich's for the kids and for us. We sat and let the kids play and we chatted while we drank our coffee. It was so nice to just learn more about each other, our parenting styles and lifestyles.

The kids weren't to sure of each other at first, but they soon grew on each other and played quite well. I don't think Amelia was used to having a boy around, but now she talks about him and wants to have have over to play again. It's so cute, Susan call Dean, Deano. Amelia calls him that too. So now when she talks about him, it's Deano this Deano that. It's quite cute.

Isn't he handsome?
Amelia not to sure about everything.....boys are funny, mama!!
Look at him....such a cutie!
He was so good...here he is drawing with the chalk.
Amelia, hanging out.

Norah eventually woke up from a nap, but it was after Dean left. We went back out to play more, the girls loved the beautiful weather!

My Weekend With the LaBre's & My Work for DTN Management..

I have been Very MIA lately. Sorry. I have been just so busy with the girls, and everyday life that I haven't posted any photos. My aunt even sent me an e-mail to make sure I was alright.

To let you all know, I'm doing quite well actually. I had a great weekend "off" two weekends ago. I went up to East Lansing to visit one of my best friends in the whole world, Stacy. Her and her hubby moved there for him to go to Law School at Michigan State. I miss them horribly, but they will be moving back once his studies are completed. Then I will be able to say I have a big shot lawyer as a friend. :)

Anyway, we had a blast! I arrived in town on Friday afternoon and was there until Sunday afternoon. First off, upon my arrival in town I did some "work". I shot pictures for Stacy's boss....I took some pictures of the apartment models at the complex they work for. It was a lot of fun, and I learned quite a bit in the process. I took almost 1000 pictures...here are just a few that I did. I know you don't want to see all 1000!

That weekend was nice because I was able to hang out with Stacy and Relax. No kids to deal with, just me. It was VERY weird, but super nice. I called the girls numerous times throughout the day. I know, but I'm never away from them that long!

Rob studies EVERY day! He took Friday night off and we all ate pizza, drank wine and hung out. It was so fun. Rob is a great guy and I love that he really makes Stacy so happy. Saturday we woke up and drank coffee, Rob made us breakfast and we all just relaxed. Once Rob headed out to the library, Stacy and I headed into town. We went to this really cool pet shop, it had such beautiful Birds and fish. It was quite a place.

We then drove around downtown Lansing, and checked out the Capital Building. It was kind of a bummer because It closed at 4:00 and we arrived at 4:15. Oh well. We wandered outside around the grounds a bit and headed out. It was cold out that day, so we didn't spend to much time, but I was able to snap a few photos. We also came across some amazing old churches, they were beautiful and had some super cool doors on the front of them.

I have to show off my girl Stacy!!

Baby Portia

I finally made my way over to visit baby Portia, Heather and John's new baby girl. She is so sweet. So small, innocent and ready to face the world. She has such small little features...little toes, little fingers, little nose. It's so darn cute.

Heather and John look Exhausted.....just how they are supposed to look after having a baby. They look happy and excited to have their special little one....They glow. A new baby, especially your first, is such an amazing thing to experience.

Congrats to you two, I'm happy for both of you!

Here are a few photos I shot of them today.

Update on the Rodgers Household.

We have so many changes going on in our home.

Amelia is learning to use the potty and I must say, quite regularly now. So far as of today, we have only had one accident and it was a poo accident. She tells me every time that she needs to pee. She is making it to the toilet before any leaks. It's so exciting to think my little baby may be potty trained soon. To top it off the expense of buying diapers would go down by half. Hey, maybe mama can afford to buy some new shoes. :) No, but all kidding aside, she is doing quite well with it all.

We have also started the Letter of the week. We began this last week with A and now B this week. I have hung a board up here in the living room with the letter on it and we will do different projects to reflect the letter. Amelia along with Rhiley are loving it. I hope they will learn from it too.

Norah Belle is also up to new things in her life. She is walking on a regular basis now and thinks she is super cool with it all. It's really cute. She toddles around everywhere. We all love to watch her go, go, go.

She is also to the age where she is pointing at everything and wanting to know things. When she points I tell her what it is that she is pointing at. She is learning.

Bryan is doing well too. He is still working at Honeywell and gets overtime every-so-often...which helps in the bills department. We like having him home with us though....but we know the bills need to be paid.

I'm doing well too. I have been busy taking lots of pictures and loving it. The first wedding I get to help Cathy out with is March 21st...so that is coming up and I'm quite excited about it.

That's us in a nutshell. Not much more to report. We are ready for spring, and can't wait to get outside and enjoy the nice weather! The snow is getting old for us all.

Thanks for reading!

Moms Birthday, Rhiley's Birthday And Much More Fun!

This was a busy weekend. It was quite nice though. The busy times were welcomed and I didn't really mind it all.

Friday the girls and I spent the day with my mom, shopping and we went to lunch. We just roamed around the mall and went and did some grocery shopping. The girls love every moment they get to spend with my mom...well and I do too.

Saturday, I woke up and finished the cupcakes I had started for Rhiley's big Birthday party then also, I put together moms birthday cake for her party that would be that evening. After getting myself along with the girls cleaned up, we went to Rhiley's Birthday party at 2:00. It was fun, my girls wandered around Rhiley's grandma's house like they owned the place, and just played, ate snacks and of course cake and ice cream.

Saturday evening was a blast actually, we spent the evening at my Brother and Gracie's house for my moms Birthday. We all just hung out as a family and, relaxed, ate pizza and had some Birthday cake. It was really nice, their house is so cozy and warm. We gave mom her birthday gifts and made her homemade pizza (her birthday dinner request). The girls even took a bath in Jake and Gracie's big Jetted tub.

Sunday was a down day for us. We sat around, and just enjoyed each other. The weather is still icky snowy here, so we didn't want to do much. We decided that evening that the girls had been in the house long enough, and that we should take a Sunday afternoon ride in the car. I brought along my camera in case the opportunity would arise. Which, it did. Here are a few shots from our drive.
