The 2008 Rodgers Family Christmas!

Christmas has come and gone. (Except for one more party this evening) We have a had a wonderful time and the girls are now very tired. We had lots of parties to attend, and we able to see family and friends we haven't seen in quite some time. The girls have learned quite a bit this year, We have tried to teach Amelia about the reason of Christmas and I'm happy we have started to instill that in them at such an early age in life. Amelia asks about Baby Jesus, and sings Happy Birthday to him.

Amelia also has learned to sing some of the Christmas songs too, it's really cute. She says Jingo bells, jingo bells. And Frosty the noman. She is sweet.

We started the weekend with driving up to Bryan's dad and stepmoms house in Allegan. We drove up in some icky snowy weather, but in all reality, it was beautiful, the trees were covered with fresh white snow and it was very pretty to look at.

When we arrived at Max and Cindy's, they had dinner ready for us and also a little birthday cake for Norah, she loved the cheesecake and ate it right up.

Her cake.
Us singing Happy Birthday to her here.
Daddy helping her blow out the candle.
We then opened Christmas gifts too. The girls were so spoiled....they received so many nice gifts, a sit and spin, a toy vaccume cleaner, a little kitchen, some cute clothes, some snow globes and so much more. We also reveived some nice items as well. We were all spoiled.
Gift! shake, shake.
Norah and Grandpa.

Grandpa Max reading to Amelia before bedtime.
Norah was so tired.
Christmas Eve, we woke up and and had a tasty breakfast that Cindy made us all. Then once we were all ready and packed the car up we drove up to Muskegon to see my Grandparents (dads side) and all my family. We all went over to my grandma and grandpas house then we went over to my dads cousin's house for a bigger party. It's a tradition each year to do these two parties. We didn't make it last year because I just had Norah, so it was nice to be there this year. We did snacks and gifts at my Grandparents house then a potluck dinner at Greg and Mary's house. At Greg and Mary's Santa comes for the kids and they get gifts. This year, no one liked Santa....poor Santa. All the kids, except Maggie cried. Maybe next year.

The only family shot we were able to get.
Gracie and Miss Belle.
Looking and watching for Santa, maybe?
Silly Norah.
This was cute, Norah crawled right on up to my Grandpa......he had food. :)

My Grandpa reads the Dr. Sueus book the Sneeches to us each year to us all. It's a tradition that was started many years ago, we look forward to his reading it each year. We can just about recite it now after so many years of the story being read to us.
Not the best picture, but here is a picture of him reading it and everyone sitting around listening.
We headed over to Greg and Mary's house. Here are some photos from there.

Grandma and her HUGE glass of wine!
My dad and his cousin Greg, they said this photo better be on the blog, so here you are gentlemen!!
The Makay's, My cousins.Yeah, so Santa came, the girls were not to happy with the whole situation.Amelia wouldn't even get close, Santa handed her gift to her on the way out the door.
That evening we drove back to Niles and then slept at home in our own beds. We woke up and Santa had been here for the girls. He left some toys and gifts for them....what fun that was for them.

The Cookie we left for Santa and the Carrot we left for the Reindeer.
The goods...not much this year, but at least it was something.
Opening their gifts Christmas morning.

After we were settled with our Santa gifts we all were cleaned up and headed up to my parents for Christmas with them. Mom had Cinnamon rolls made and coffee ready when we arrived there. SO GOOD! We sat around and relaxed a bit, then my grandma and grandpa and aunt and uncle came down for the day. We then all exchanged gifts and received our stockings Santa left for all of us.

Miss Norah, checking everything out.

We had a pretty great christmas. It was very nice to spend the time with my family and friends. My In laws will be in town until the 2nd of January, so I'm sure we will be spending time with other friends and family until then.

Hope you all had a great one too and Happy New year to come!

Norah is One Year Old Today!

Yes, our Miss Belle is One year Old Today! How time does Fly! It feels like she was just born last week. But nope, it was a whole year ago. She was so small back then, Six pounds seven ounces, however, fast forward to now, she is 18 pounds and growing daily! Our little chunk....SO CUTE!

A little bit of information to catch you up on our little darling, Norah has her Eight front Teeth and can say Mama, Dada, Hello, and has said Bye Bye, but only once or twice. She can tell you what a dog can say say....woof.....very quietly. It's pretty cute if I do say so myself. She can blow you a kiss and play peek-a-boo with you. She can sign the word more....that is when SHE wants to so, and is she is walking along everything like the walls, the couch and anything she can hold on to. She will be walking solo Very soon!

She actually LOVES her Big sister, Amelia can do no wrong in her little eyes. I'ts sweet and scary all in one. She watches EVERYTHING Amelia does and just follows her all around the house. Amelia doesn't really seem to mind much (well most of the time that is), she love Norah too.

We had her Big Party today, it was a very cold and snowy day here...in fact some people couldn't even make it and others had a pretty rough time. The temps are in the single digits and it feels negative 15 or colder. Winds are blowing roads shut and the snow is coming down. But we still had a house full and a happy one year old!

We ordered a Cup cake, Pull apart cake from Target...if you haven't ever bought a cake from Target.....Do it some time...Oh my goodness do they have wonderful cakes! Bryan made a Chocolate Trifle and we had just a few snacks and drinks. It was small and simple, yet very nice for her.

Here are a few photos from the day!

First of all her One year couch shot.
Happy Birthday.
The tasty cake.
Family shot.Opening gifts, she really received so super nice things.

Cake Time, singing happy Birthday to her here.
Blowing out the Candle. It was a group effort.

Um, Very Yummy!
Rhiley was there....Look how cute, she looks.
Maggie came too.....she slept though most of the party. :)

This is just a cute shot from last night, Jake and Gracie came over for a while, they brought Norah's birthday gift over since they weren't able to make it today. She LOVED it, it's a bubble lawn mower. Well, she loved it, when Amelia would actually let her play with it.

Happy Birthday Norah Belle, We love you very much!
